About the Lissaire ironing machine

The Lissaire Automatic Ironing Machine is a hands-free ironing machine for clothes.

You put a shirt that is still damp from the washer over a soft bag on the machine, and you start it.

The bag fills with hot air, like a balloon, and fills out the shirt from the inside. The cloth is gently pulled smooth while it dries, and that removes the wrinkles.

Your hands are free while the machine runs.

It works on shirts, polo shirts and T-shirts. With extra parts called attachments, it also works on pants, jeans and dresses.

It uses hot air, not steam, and you never fill it with water. People also call it a self-ironing machine or an inflatable ironing machine.

Yes, if the clothes are damp when you put them on the machine. The machine removes the wrinkles while the damp cloth dries smooth. Clothes that are already dry keep their wrinkles.

So use clothes that are still damp from the washer. If a piece of clothing is already dry, put it on the machine and spray it lightly with water before you turn the machine on.

A fan in the base of the machine blows hot air into a soft bag inside your clothes. The full bag gently pulls the cloth smooth.

Four weighted clips on the bottom edge of a shirt keep it pulled down. The damp cloth dries while it is held smooth, and that removes the wrinkles.

The machine does not need the heat of an iron for this. Its highest heat setting is 158°F (70°C). The metal plate of an iron can reach 392°F (200°C) or more.

No. Lissaire is not a steamer, and it does not use steam. It uses dry hot air, and you never fill it with water.

The only water is in your clothes, because they are damp when you put them on the machine.

With an iron or a handheld steamer, your hands do the work for the whole piece of clothing. With Lissaire, the machine does the work.

You put one piece on, start it, and do something else in the same room.
A steamer leaves the clothes hanging loose. On this machine, the cloth is gently pulled smooth while it dries.

Lissaire does not fully replace an iron. If you have many pieces to do, an iron is faster. Some buyers also still use an iron on the collar and on the cuffs, the ends of the sleeves.

No. If you have many pieces of clothing to do, an iron is faster. This machine does one piece at a time, and each piece takes about 8 to 12 minutes. So five shirts take about 40 to 60 minutes of machine time.

The difference is that the machine works by itself. Each piece needs about 90 seconds of your time. For the rest of the time, your hands are free and you can do something else in the same room.

It is a good choice if you have a few shirts, pants or dresses to do each week and you want your hands free while they dry. It does one piece of clothing at a time, and each piece takes about 8 to 12 minutes.

It is not a good choice if you need the clothes of a whole family done fast, because an iron is faster. It also does not work on suits, jackets, coats, wool clothes or sweaters.

You can send it back within 60 days of delivery. You pay for the return shipping. The full rules are in our Return & Refund Policy.

Clothes, fabrics and sizes

It works on shirts, polo shirts, T-shirts, pants, jeans and dresses. The machine uses a different part for each kind of clothing. These parts are called attachments.

  • Shirts, blouses, polo shirts and T-shirts go on the shirt attachment.
  • Pants and jeans go on the pants attachment.
  • Dresses go on the dress attachment.
  • The shoe attachment dries shoes and caps.

We sell the machine in two sets. The shirt attachment comes in both. The pants and shoe attachments come in the larger set. The dress attachment is sold separately.

It does not work on suits, suit jackets, coats, wool clothes, sweaters or delicate knits such as cashmere. Take those to the dry cleaner. The machine does one piece of clothing at a time.

Yes, with extra parts called attachments.

Pants and jeans go on the pants attachment. Dresses go on the dress attachment.

We sell the machine in two sets. The larger set includes the pants attachment. The dress attachment is sold separately. You can see both sets on the product page.

Yes. You can use it on silk and linen, and also on cotton and polyester blends. Check the care label on the piece of clothing first.

Use the lowest heat setting, 122°F (50°C), for thin cloth such as silk. Use the highest, 158°F (70°C), for thick cotton.

Do not use it on wool, sweaters or delicate knits such as cashmere. Those go to the dry cleaner.

It works on clothes from size S to XXL. Zippers on the sides of the soft bag make it wider or narrower.

The two rods that stand in the base can be made longer or shorter, to match the length of the clothes.

The largest size is XXL.

Not every time. The collar and the cuffs, the ends of the sleeves, dry with the rest of the shirt. But some buyers say in their reviews that they still go over them with an iron.

To get them as smooth as you can, close every button and turn the collar up, so that it stands up around the neck. The instruction manual asks for both.

The shirt must be damp, as for every piece of clothing.

No. It does not wash clothes. It dries them and removes wrinkles. Clothes go on the machine after the wash, while they are still damp. They do not go in the dryer first.

How to use it

The machine has four main parts:

  • The base. It holds the fan that blows the hot air, and it has the controls: on and off, heat, and timer.
  • Two rods that stand in the base, like poles.
  • A hanger bar that lies across the top of the two rods.
  • A soft bag that slides onto the machine and fills with air. Your shirt goes over this bag.
  • Shirts, pants and dresses each use their own bag. These bags are the attachments.

Yes. The clothes must be damp: a little wet, but not dripping. Take them from the washer after it finishes spinning, and do not dry them in the dryer first.

If a piece of clothing is already dry, put it on the machine and spray it with water until it is damp, before you turn the machine on. Do not let water run down onto the machine.

About 8 to 12 minutes for each piece of clothing. A light shirt takes about 8 minutes. Thick cotton and jeans take closer to 15 minutes.

Putting a piece on the machine and starting it takes about 90 seconds of your time. The machine does one piece at a time.

These are the steps for a shirt:

1. Start with a shirt that is still damp from the washer.

2. Open or close the zippers on the soft bag so that it matches the size of the shirt.

3. Close the buttons of the shirt and slip it over the bag while the bag is still flat. Turn the collar up so that it stands.

4. Set the heat and the timer, then turn the machine on. The bag fills with air.

5. Clip the four weighted clips to the bottom edge of the shirt.

6. When the timer ends, take the shirt off the machine and hang it up.

The base of the machine and the two rods get hot during a run and shortly after it. Do not touch them. Our Video Guides page shows the steps on video.

The heat control has these settings. The numbers on the machine are degrees Celsius.

- Cool: air with no heat.

- 50, which is 122°F: thin cloth, such as silk.

- 60, which is 140°F: everyday shirts.

- 70, which is 158°F: thick cotton.

Check the care label on the piece of clothing first. If you are not sure, start with a cooler setting.

1. The clothes were damp when you put them on the machine. Dry clothes keep their wrinkles.

2. The soft bag matches the size of the piece of clothing. Open the side zippers for a bigger piece, so that the cloth sits flat on the bag.

3. The weighted clips are on the bottom edge, so that the cloth stays pulled down.

4. Every button is closed and the collar is turned up.

5. The heat and the time match the cloth. Thick cotton needs the 70 setting and closer to 12 minutes.

If it still does not work, write to us in the chat or email Info@Lissaire.com. We will help you.

No. Stay in the same room while it runs. Your hands are free, so you can do something else there.

The machine switches off by itself when the timer ends, and a safety switch turns it off if it overheats.

  • The base and the two rods get hot. Do not touch them during a run or shortly after it.
  • Do not cover the air openings while the machine runs.
  • Stand the machine on a hard, flat floor, away from water and from anything that burns easily.
  • The machine is not for children to use. Keep children away from it.
  • Unplug it when you are done, and let it cool down before you put it away.

Less than 9 cents for each piece of clothing, at an electricity price of 17 cents per kilowatt-hour. One run of 8 to 12 minutes uses less than half a kilowatt-hour of electricity.

A minute or two, the first time. Each of the two rods comes in two pieces. You push the pieces into each other, stand both rods in the base and put the hanger bar across the top. Then the soft bag slides on.

The machine stays together between shirts.

For pants, you take the hanger bar off, make the rods longer and put on the pants attachment.

Price, sets and orders

In the US, the machine costs between about $200 and $400. The price depends on which of the two sets you choose and on any sale that is running.

The exact price today is on the product page, and checkout shows the shipping cost.

You can also pay in installments (several smaller payments) with Klarna at checkout.

We sell the machine in two sets.

- The smaller set has the machine with its shirt attachment and four weighted clips. It does shirts, blouses, polo shirts and T-shirts.

- The larger set has everything in the smaller set, plus the pants attachment, the shoe attachment and four laundry clips. It also does pants and jeans, and it dries shoes and caps.

If you only want shirts done, the smaller set is enough. If you also want pants or jeans done, choose the larger set. Most buyers choose the larger set.

The weighted clips keep the bottom edge of a shirt pulled down. The laundry clips hold socks or underwear on the hanger bar to dry. The dress attachment is sold separately.
